Scottish Womens Football 2021: Scotland 7 – 1 Faroes

Scotland’s womens team added a second world cup qualifying win with a straightforwad victory over the Faroe Islands.

Scotland, who opened their account last week with a victory in Hungary are now joint top of the group with Spain. Both teams have 6 points from the first two games.

BBC SCOTLAND REPORT:
“Scotland cruised to victory against the Faroe Islands in their first ever qualifier at Hampden Park to maintain a perfect start to their World Cup bid.

Erin Cuthbert and Christy Grimshaw scored either side of two Chloe Arthur headers to put the Scots 4-0 up.

Maria Biskopsto scored a rare goal for the Faroes but Martha Thomas, Jenna Clark, and Claire Emslie sealed a comfortable victory.

Scotland sit second in Group B, behind Spain on goal difference.

A late head injury for Cuthbert was the only sour note as the Chelsea forward had to be taken off on a stretcher in stoppage time.”
