Aberdeen have been crowned Scottish Cup champions for the 2024/25 season after defeating Celtic at Hampden Park following a penalty shoot-out. Hibs win first SWPL title in 18 years! From BBC Scotland: Hibernian head coach Grant Scott nailed it when he said his side had survived “broken bodies” to win a shock SWPL title against Rangers at Ibrox. The squad had to dig about as deep as any squad could in their quest for unlikely glory. But they did it. The walking wounded won the league at Ibrox. “We’ve pushed them to the absolute limit,” Scott told BBC Scotland. “There’s some broken bodies out there, and in the dugout and the stands. In this modern era of Scottish women’s football – it’s a massive achievement.”
Celtic have been crowned The SPFL Champions for 2024/25 with a 55th Title. Ayr were crowned deserving champions of the Arnold Clark Men’s Premiership after soundly defeating Watsonians 41-12 at Millbrae on Saturday. It all came from a brilliant first half from the home side. The final turned out to be the physical battle that many expected from two of the best defensive sides in the league this season. ‘Vintage Higgins beats Selby in Tour Championship final’ BBC REPORT: ‘An emotional John Higgins produced a vintage display to defeat fellow four-time world champion Mark Selby 10-8 in a compelling Tour Championship final in Manchester. The Scot dominated the early stages on Sunday to lead 5-1 but appeared on the ropes when Selby reeled off seven consecutive frames to hold an 8-5 advantage in a high-quality encounter. However, from there, Higgins who turns 50 next month, exhibited his fighting qualities, crafting breaks of 110, 67 and 84 as he edged back in front at 9-8.
‘Top-tier’ Scotland beat Swiss to take historic World Curling gold BBC REPORT: ‘Bruce Mouat’s “amazing” Scotland secured the World Men’s Curling Championship title for a second time in historic fashion after a dramatic 5-4 victory over Switzerland in Moose Jaw, Canada. The Scots had to confirm their world number one ranking the hard way, becoming the first team ever to win gold after coming through a quarter-final, having only finished fifth in the round-robin.

Glasgow, Scotland will host the 2026 Commonwealth Games, which will take place from July 23 to August 2, 2026. The games will be the 23rd edition of the Commonwealth Games and will return to Glasgow 12 years after the 2014 games. Features of the 2026 games. The games will feature 10 sports, including athletics, swimming, gymnastics, track cycling, netball, weightlifting, boxing, judo, bowls, and basketball.
Scotland have exited the 2024 European Football Championships in Germany at the group stage after a largely disappointing campaign. Hopes were high that Scotland could make the knockout stages of a major mens football tournament for the first time but all three matches were to end in relatively uninspiring performances for The Tartan army who travelled in large numbers.

Celtic beat Glasgow City 3-2 to lift the Women’s Scottish Cup for the first time.
Scotland’s first appearance at a major mens finals in 23 years has ended after the group stage of Euro 2020. After a disappointing first result where Scotland were defeated 2-0 by The Czech Republic, honour and good feeling was restored by a creditable 0-0 draw with England at Wembley. That result set Scotland and Croatia up for a winner take all head-to-head where the victor would progress to the knockout stages of the tournament.
Mighty Thunder claims thrilling Scottish Grand National win for Scottish Based trainer Lucinda Russell. BBC Report: ‘Mighty Thunder produced a late surge to claim a thrilling victory in the Scottish Grand National at Ayr. Runner-up Dingo Dollar led with two fences to go before Mighty Thunder, ridden by Tom Scudamore and trained by Lucinda Russell, snatched the win. It is the first time since 2012 that a Scottish trainer has won the race.
